Family Based Treatment

Family Based Treatment (FBT) is an evidence-based treatment for Anorexia Nervosa in adolescents. It has also been used to treat other eating disorders such as Bulimia Nervosa and Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder (OSFED). This treatment focuses on using the family as a valuable resource to help the adolescent with restoring weight and regaining control back from the eating disorder.

Exposure Therapy/Exposure and Response Prevention

Exposure Therapy is the recommended treatment for many anxiety disorders including Panic Disorder, Phobias, and Social Anxiety. Exposure and Response Prevention is the gold-standard treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Both treatments involve creating a menu of feared situations/stimuli and learning to approach the situation in order to gain new learning about yourself or the situation. Often this results in a decrease of anxiety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy - Informed

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment for emotional dysregulation. DBT consists of learning a variety of skills and generalizing them to your life. Skills are derived from four modules: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation.

Behavioral Parent Training

Behavioral Parent Training is the recommended treatment for parents of children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. This treatment can also be useful for parents of children with emotional regulation difficulties and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It involves learning about the function of behaviors so that you can reinforce behaviors you want to see and eliminate behaviors you don’t want.
